Canadian Telework Day - Nov 4, 1998

Canada's first ever Telework Day was on Wednesday, Nov. 4, 1998. It was Canada's first ever nationwide telework education and public awareness campaign.

The objective of Telework Day was to:

• to raise public awareness and provide information on benefits of telework, telecommuting and new officing arrangements for Canadians;

• to encourage more Canadians and their organizations to telework;

  and,

• to increase the Canadian Telework Association's membership base.

By participation in the program, employers and individuals learnt about and experienced the benefits of telework.
