To Christian Van Asbroeck, vanasbroeck@compuserve.com

NOTES:

1. The GAT meeting will be followed by a buffet reception given by GAT with the support of ETD, from 18:00 to 20:00 on June 4. It is intended to give you the opportunity to meet participants in the Commission's workshop the following day (see note 2) and invited press representatives, as the beginning of a process to enlarge participation in GAT guidelines development and endorsement.

The reception will be hosted by the brand new CYBERTHEATRE in Brussels which is offering us the use of their facilities. The address is Avenue de la Toison d'Or 4, 1050 Brussels (metro station : Porte de Namur)

This is a fabulous place really worth the visit. And serving a fine cuisine that you will be given to enjoy. You'll have a flavour of the Cybertheatre's style at http://www.nirvanet.com

Please inform Christian Van Asbroeck of your participation.

2. On the following day, Thursday 05 Jun 97, the EC will hold in Centre Borschette, Brussels, an open seminar on "Telework in Europe : the bridge between social and societal needs and new technology opportunities". Those registering for this meeting will be invited to the cocktail reception on 4 June evening.

The full agenda and names of speakers for this event, together with a registration form are online at:

http://www.eto.org.uk/twork/ec970605.htm

There will be speakers from DGs 5 and 3 as well as 13, plus speakers from ISPO and the Commission's Forward Studies Unit, the Information Society Forum, the Trade Union movement, and a Member of the European Parliament. This is the widest cross section of policy and programme representation ever gathered by the Commission for a public meeting on telework. Future (5th Framework) as well as current European programmes will be reviewed.

Please note that in order to be admitted to the building you need to complete the registration and obtain a confirmation from DGXIII.
