European Telework Awards 1997

Practical Contributions to Europe's Success

The European Commission, DGXIII, working with the European Telework Week partners, recently awarded the new European Telework Awards to five worthy winners.

Awards were presented in the following main categories:

The best contribution to European competitiveness
The most original telework scheme
The best contribution to sustainability
The best technological contribution to advancing telework
The best media coverage of telework

The Awards were presented in a ceremony in Brussels on 7th November 1997 (during European Telework Week). Costs of attending the ceremony for all short listed candidates were be met by the ETW97 programme. There was extensive media coverage before and during ETW97.

Nominations received before 25^th July 1997 were also forwarded for consideration among the "Top 100" telework example to be presented at the Telework97 Congress in Stockholm, 24^th-26^th September 1997, giving two opportunities to be featured in major European events during 1997.
