3rd European Assembly on Telework and New Ways of Working
Telework '96 will be held in the City Hall, Vienna, Austria
from 4th to 6th November 1996, with the theme:
"Working in a Wider Europe".

Short summary of the Event
- Event organiser: Centre for Social Innovation (Vienna) - CSI
- Pre-conference (evening): welcome cocktail, followed by introductory
keynote lectures.
- Day one: State of progress in implementing Telework. Plenary session
with invited keynote speakers who will develop their visions of the Global
Information Society, followed by parallel sessions to debate on the opportunities,
obstacles and challenges of telework and flexible working.
- Day two: Parallel sessions in which teleworking pioneers, experts
and researchers will examine in detail the economic and social impacts of
telework and discuss with policy makers and the political community, what
steps have to be taken to overcome the constraints on transborder telework
and to fully exploit the potential of information and communication technologies.
- Closing plenary session: The socio-economic development and cohesion
of a wider Europe through telework.
3rd European Inter-Parliamentary Special Interest Group Assembly
"A third meeting of members of regional, national parliaments and the
European Parliament will be held alongside with the conference to identify
common interests and to establish an agenda for further cross-party discussions
on Telework."

An exhibition is being planned.
General focus of the event
"The focus of the assembly is to promote European integration, particularly
concerning countries in Central and Eastern Europe/CEE which are likely
to join the EU next. It will function as a prism to collect and refract
knowledge about global societal and technological developments throughout
