The focus of this session at IST98 is on new methods of work. But the same messages hold true of all the applications of the information society - new methods in commerce, in education, in building and sustaining communities, in managing our society through the democratic process.
Among these telework in its various forms remains perhaps the application where differentiation is most clearly important and useful. There is no “correct” approach to telework, and we will learn more from studying and evaluating our differences than from trying to promote a particular line.
European Telework Online (http://www.eto.org.uk) seeks to assist this by providing a blend of generally valid information with country-specific and sector-specific insights, as well as contacts across the world.
