The Telework Debate:Jack Nilles Online15-17 February 1999Jack Nilles is generally regarded as the "Father of Teleworking", having introduced the concept in Southern California in the early 1970s. His consulting and speaking on telework are world wide. His recent book, Managing Telework, has been selected as current "Best Buy" among the telework books recommended by European Telework Online.
Between 15 - 17 February 1999 Jack Nilles will make a Guest Appearance in the European Telework Online telework discussion forum, when he will discuss his vast experience of telework, which spans public policy, enterprise strategies, management practices and personal telecommuting. He will also answer questions arising from his book. The Debate will be chaired by Maarten Botterman, European Commission, DGXIII C1 - this is the unit responsible for "New Methods of Work" in the Commission's new IST Programme. Details of this event will be posted to the European Telework discussion and announcement lists, but the event will be accessible only to subscribers to the discussion list.
